Job Description
The Ideal Plumbing Solutions Assistant Plumbing & Heating Engineer role is field based. With a minimum of supervision, he/she installs, maintains and repairs plumbing systems and associated appliances and apparatus to the required quality and safety standards, ensuring cost effectiveness and a high level of customer satisfaction. This can involve the installation of bathrooms, central heating, showers, kitchen appliances and all general plumbing maintenance and emergency work.
You must provide your own tools and be willing to keep them updated and in a serviced state ready for use at all times.
You are required to have your own transport as you will need to travel to a work site independently. However, a company vehicle is provided for the majority of the time, which you cannot keep overnight and is not for personal or recreational use.
You must have internet and email access and be competent to use it. You will be responsible for recording customer information and job details using Ideal Plumbing Solutions Job Sheets. You will be required to obtain the customer signature on job completion. Failure to do so will result in you not being paid for assessed hours worked on site/job.
You may be involved in collection of payment on job completion and therefore you will be subject to a credit check prior to being offered any employment with Ideal Plumbing Solutions.
A uniform is supplied which must be worn at all times when on site representing Ideal Plumbing Solutions.
A mobile phone is provided strictly for use on Ideal Plumbing Solutions business. Any private or excess usage will be deducted from your salary.
Working hours are 40 hours over 7 days with 2 days per week off. The role will also involve some flexible working which may include evenings and weekends and also emergency cover.
Paid holiday is strictly 28 days which includes bank holidays.
Requirements
· Minimum of 3 years Plumbing & Heating experience in the field.
· Must be polite and courteous and maintain a clean and presentable appearance at all times.
· You must hold a minimum of CCN1, CEN1 & CKR1 in Plumbing or an equivalent.
· You must be Gas Safe qualified but not necessarily registered. (Ideal Plumbing Solutions will pay to register you whilst you are in their employment.)
· You must have experience in all domestic plumbing installation work including central heating in occupied premises.
· You must have a current full manual driver’s license valid for use within the UK.
· You must be willing to work outside of normal contracted hours (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) to cover emergency repairs.
Responsibilities
· The Ideal Plumbing Solutions Assistant Plumbing & Heating Engineer reports to the Company Principal and is responsible for delivering key business objectives including safety, quality, growth and profitable targets.
· To work as part of the Ideal Plumbing Solutions team.
· To play an active role in training apprentices and be responsible for them and their actions when working in the field.
· To positively promote Ideal Plumbing Solutions to increase customer awareness and increase the profitability of the business.
· To deal positively with any customer complaints, speedily resolving these in a most cost effective way while ensuring that high levels of customer satisfaction are maintained and the reputation of Ideal Plumbing Solutions is not adversely affected.

· You will have excellent communication skills, an ability to identify opportunities to increase business and a great deal of enthusiasm to succeed.
· You must be self reliant and responsible and able to demonstrate pride and effort in anything you undertake.
· As the public face of Ideal Plumbing Solutions, you will need to present the company’s high standard at all times, through the quality of your work, the way you deal with customer and the public in general.
